Mortis & Tenon Joints

I wanted all of my boards to align to create a smooth surface on the front face of my bench, so I carefully laid out my mortis locations.  Using a 1/2" flat tip drill bit, I removed most of the mortis and followed up with a wood chisel to clean up the mortis.  After a little practice, I got much more proficient and my workmanship improved a lot.

Using a small board as a straight edge, I used a router to cut my tenons.  This worked really well.
